The Green Rock Foundation deeply regrets the recent death of a dog during a veterinary procedure carried out by one of our partner organizations.
We recognize the seriousness of this incident and understand the concern it has caused within the community.
The Foundation implements many of its programs and initiatives in partnership with specialized organizations that are selected based on their professional qualifications, experience, and alignment with the Foundation’s values and standards.
The incident occurred during a dog sterilization procedure conducted by a partner organization. We are sincerely saddened by what happened and have initiated a thorough fact-finding process to establish all the circumstances surrounding the incident, assess the actions taken, and determine whether all professional and operational procedures were properly followed.
To support this process, the Foundation has requested all relevant documentation, records, and professional assessments related to the case.
Until this review is complete, we believe it would be inappropriate to make assumptions or assign final responsibility to any party.
At the same time, the Green Rock Foundation has suspended its cooperation with the Hrant Ark Foundation and Ecoparsec NGO under the previously signed memorandum until the matter is fully reviewed.
In parallel, we are reviewing our internal procedures for partner selection, oversight, cooperation monitoring, and risk management to further strengthen our standards.
Animal welfare and humane treatment are among the core principles of the Green Rock Foundation. We remain committed to these values and will take all necessary steps to reinforce our procedures and minimize the risk of similar incidents in the future.
