Dilijan has the bones of one of the most beautiful small cities in the South Cacasus. But beauty and coherence aren't the same thing. Walk through the city and you'll notice the beauty is there, but it's uneven. As the city grows and attracts new investment, new visitors, and new energy, it needs a shared design language that ensures the city evolves without losing what makes it Dilijan.
That's why the Green Rock Charitable Foundation, alongside local stakeholders, has supported the Dilijan Municipality in developing the Dilijan Urban Design Framework, a strategic guidance document that sets out clear, practical design standards for public spaces and street-facing elements across the city. The goal is to give the city a coherent visual identity that respects its heritage, meets contemporary standards, and makes every street, square, and storefront feel like it belongs to the same place.
Once completed, the Framework will be publicly accessible and will complement Dilijan's existing urban planning documentation, giving residents, businesses, and developers a shared reference point for how the city grows.
